Our School

Welcome to EB!

Elizabeth Barrett Elementary School is home to approximately 480 students from Kindergarten to Grade 4. We are proud to be a long-established dual-track school, with our students enrolled in either a regular English program or a French Immersion program. Elizabeth Barrett Elementary School is located on the tri-school site in Cochrane, and we enjoy strong partnerships with our neighbors at Manachaban Middle School and Cochrane High School.

We are fortunate to have a dedicated staff, a very supportive and engaged parent community, and the absolute best students in our school. We strive to embody the characteristics of Community, Collaboration and Curiosity – Communauté, Collaboration, et Curiosité. We enjoy our proximity to the Cochrane Ranche, and our classes take advantage of this beautiful natural space regularly in their learning.

About Our Logo

"If you want a child's mind to grow... you must first plant a seed."

Elizabeth Barrett Elementary School is a place where the love for learning is intentionally seeded in the minds of its young students.  It is a place where curiosity is fostered and wonder is nurtured. This logo seeks to symbolize this journey of growth and learning that both students and staff embark on together.

The EB Logo is a tree sapling with the letters "EB" making up the sapling leaves.  It is enclosed in a circle, representing the whole child, nurturing and community.  The break in the circle represents inclusion and welcoming of others.

Vision

To inspire wonder and build courage; to make a difference in our world.
